Jordan Wax is a traditional musician. For the past 25 years he has worked with elders in a variety of cultural contexts to learn regional musical and linguistic dialects and to explore ways they contribute to our community today. He lives in Northern New Mexico, where he performs regional Norteño traditions and Yiddish songs, facilitates Yiddish language spaces, documents music-related oral history among the Northern New Mexico ‘Manito’ community, and produces bilingual children’s programming in Spanish/English and Yiddish/English settings.
