Joanne Borts is a New York based Actor-Singer-Dancer-Musician and Labor Activist whose Broadway credits include the Tony Award Winning Best Musical Once, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella with Eartha Kitt, and Fiddler on the Roof with Topol. She appeared in the critically acclaimed off-Broadway productions of Shanghai Sonatas, On Second Avenue, The Golden Land, Night in the Old Marketplace, Hello Muddah Hello Fadduh, and Fidler Afn Dakh (Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish) directed by Grammy, Oscar and Tony winner, Joel Grey. She’s also the director, choreographer and co-author of her labor of love, Kids & Yiddish. Joanne has performed as a solo artist with Neil Sedaka, Robert Klein, the Grammy winning Klezmatics, Klezmer Conservatory Band, Klez Dispensers, and The Three Yiddish Divas with Adrienne Cooper and Teresa Tova. She has appeared in concerts halls and festivals across the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, and Europe, including Vienna Kulturherbst, Warsaw Zingera, Festiwal Kultury Żydowskiej- Krakow, the Montreal Jazz Festival, Kleztival Brasil, and New York’s Carnegie Hall.
