About me
Ilana Cravitz is a London-based violinist and educator. She has been on faculty for many klezmer, world music, folk and fiddle festivals and has toured on all five continents, not least as co-founder of the London Klezmer Quartet and member of the European Union Baroque Orchestra. Ilana’s unique tutorial, Klezmer Fiddle – a How-to Guide, is published by Oxford University Press, and she led the editorial team for The Hoffman Book, Susan Hoffman Watts’ family compendium. Recent ventures include helping to set up KlezMargate, a new UK Yiddish arts festival, and working with budding klezmorim to build a National Klezmer Youth Orkester. Ilana is presented at YNY 2024 by NOVA Foundation for the Arts.
