About me
Eyshe Beirich is a Yiddish scholar, teacher, and translator living in New York City. He is a PhD student at Columbia University in the Department of Germanic Languages since 2023, where he works on Yiddish, German, and Palestinian/Israeli literary history. He has taught Yiddish around New York and Chicago, and he worked from 2022-2024 as a Pedagogical Coordinator and Yiddish instructor at the YIVO-Bard Uriel Weinreich Summer Program in Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture. His writings and translations have appeared in Jewish Currents, Yiddish Branzhe, Afn Shvel, the Forverts, and In geveb: a Journal of Yiddish Studies.
